We hope
everyone is staying cool and enjoying everything our parks have
to offer this summer.
The weather here has been extremely hot this
year. One day we were out shopping and, when we got back to the
car, it registered 124o, now that’s hot! We looked at each other
and said, “What are we doing here?” Then, of course, we remember
the wonderful winters we’ve had and once again grin knowing we
can bare it; after all it is only for a few months.
If you happen to be in the area in July there
are a few things to look forward to July 4th there will be music
and movie madness in the park at the Palm Desert Civic Park with
fireworks in the evening. On July 13th, at Fantasy Springs
Casino, the world famous Lipizzaner stallions will be there to
entertain the entire family. I really love to watch a beautiful
horse show. Last but not least, on July 19th for the hippie era,
there will be a hippie fest with many stars and music from the
sixties.
Located just off Highway 111 on Cathedral Canyon
Drive, the Resort offers spacious, shaded sites, showers and
restrooms, laundry facilities, club house, crystal-blue pool and
spa, children’s wading pool, shuffleboard courts, horseshoe
pits, public walking and bike path with towering trees and view
of the mountains. We are centrally located close to golf courses
and a variety of fine dining. Also nearby are the Museums,
Theaters and Casinos of the Coachella Valley.
Come stay with us and relax while having a good
time. Tell all your RV friends about us and our “friendly
staff.”
Managers,
Ed & Linda Little
Happy
4th of July!

What
a great summer we are having here at Hidden Springs Resort.
Almost everyday is filled with either work or fun. One thing
that has not been fun is the afternoon thunder storms, during
temperatures soaring in the upper 90o, without cooling us off a
bit.
Last month my daughter was married here at
Hidden Springs Resort. Cheryl McDaniel and Charles Rosevally.
Charles is one of our volunteers. They had a short
sweet ceremony performed by one of our members, minister David
Day at the pavilion. A reception followed with food and a DJ.
The whole park attended along with family and friends. Everyone
had a great time!.
Wow!! Can you believe that summer is here and we
are ready to celebrate another Fourth of July? Our volunteers
and I have big plans for those camping with us. Hidden
Springs will hold our annual Independence Day celebration with
many special events. We will kick off Friday night with a
fireworks show on the river. Saturday and Sunday morning be sure
to bring your appetite for Granny`s scrumptious homemade
biscuits and breakfast, in the kitchen. Several activities are
planned for children and adults throughout the day. Saturday
night the band Black Creek will entertain everyone with country
and variety music at the pavilion from 8:00 pm until 12:00 am.
Everyone get ready to shake a leg.
Are you ready to get away from all the hustle of
the hectic work life? Pack your RV, grab your fishing tackle and
head down south to Hidden Springs Resort where a very friendly
and helpful staff awaits your arrival. We are a great family
campground offering both RV and tent sites, and rustic cabins
along the Bogue Chitto River. We have a basketball and tennis
court, playground, nature trail, two swimming pools and a spring
fed creek to play in. If you love the country, fishing, nature,
tubing the river; or, if you are wanting to just relax and
unwind or just want to kick back and watch the river flow by,
Hidden Springs is the place to be.

We
are still picking up after our last storm. Nothing compared
to what Rita at Tomorrow’s Stars is going through. Our
prayers are with you.
We are getting ready for July 4th. A big weekend
is planned. Our big event is the golf cart races. Someone
brought me an idea to do the regular races with the gas carts
and the electric ones. The idea is that after the real races,
have one that everyone drives in reverse; don't know if that one
is going to happen. Most have a hard time going forward. Ha! Ha!
The kids will have bingo and a miniature golf tournament and, if
the weather permits, we will have a water balloon fight. For the
adults, besides the races, there will be a poker run, decorated
golf cart parade with prizes, our annual Steak Fry, Chinese
Auction and 50-50 raffle. Backwood Karaoke will be here on
Friday and Saturday. Everyone gets a big kick out of it since
almost everyone is good at it; but there is a few that wouldn't
make it on the Gong Show. They all have fun and that is all that
matters.
Our Marines were back here camping out and had a
great time. These boys will be leaving in August for Paris
Island for boot camp and I wished everyone the best of luck in
there venture. Another group will be arriving in July before
they go in September. They came this year ready to go in the
woods to pick up the limbs and twigs for their bonfire; but, we
helped them out with the trees we had down. They couldn't thank
us enough. The time they saved was used to play games before
they ate. Then they hiked through the woods.
On June 28th we are having A “special thanks”
goes to: (1) all the members that have and still are cutting
grass and keeping the park looking terrific and, (2) all the
members that are beautifying the park with flowers and trimming
hedges. The park really looks great.

Dear Rita,
We are all so very sorry for the disaster. Your personal touch
was evident throughout the building.

Our
clubhouse was consumed in flames on Saturday, June 14, 2008.

Our multi-functional building used for a
reservations office, library, kitchen, dining room,
entertainment, etc. has been lost to us; but, we feel very lucky
to inform you that the park is still open to our members. The
Ohio State Fire Marshall's office has ruled the cause of the
fire that destroyed the RV park clubhouse to be accidental.
Lightning was the most probable cause of the
fire according to the Fire Marshall. The fire likely began in
the northwest corner of the clubhouse. The all of our volunteers
that have been helping us with clean-up and donating office
supplies such as file cabinets, adding machine and numerous
office supplies. It is these campers that make our park so
special.
The computer, which held all the park’s
reservations, was destroyed, as were the phone lines. We have
replaced the computer and the phone lines are back up. With July
4th fast approaching, this may cause some confusion. "It might
just be first-come first-serve." Please be patient and
understanding with the staff upon your arrival, they are doing
their best under the circumstances.
We want to encourage members to come visit. In
addition to our 4th of July activities we are planning our
annual Christmas in July on the 26th. We will have a lot judging
contest for the best decorations, hayrides with Santa, and games
for the kids. The weather has been beautiful, so please come
down and visit our park we promise that you’ll have a great
time.
Manager,
Rita Shaffer
